Goa - A Tropical Paradise

Portuguese mansion in Nagoa

Stay in a lovely boutique hotel with a swimming pool and a thatched restaurant.

The hotel has only seven rooms, each named after a flower and done in Goa/Portuguese furniture. Balconies open out onto the garden below.

Inside the rooms, there are four poster beds, magnificent wardrobes, planter's chairs and treasure chests. Well chosen paintings and little artefacts adorn the walls.

"Done up in exquisite taste with authentic colonial style furniture, this hideaway promises to show you the gentle, sleepy Goa of yesteryear."

Goa - A Tropical Paradise

Day 1, GOA

You'll be collected from the airport and transferred to Presa di Goa in North Goa.

Day 2, NAGOA, NORTH GOA

Presa di Goa is a quaint blue jewel of a country house tucked away in the little north Goan village of Nagoa.

Done up in exquisite taste with authentic colonial style furniture, this hideaway promises to show you the gentle, sleepy Goa of yesteryear. Lounge on a long armed planters chair on the traditional broad verandah, cool off in their chlorine free pool or take a short drive to the lively beaches of Calangute and Baga. Whichever option you choose, this hotel will be true to its name and turn you into a `presa' or captive of Goa.

Each room is named after a local flower which also finds its way onto the delicately embroidered upholstery. The furniture is of the traditional dark wood but it is set off by colourful walls in rose pink, mango yellow and ocean green. And the tall four poster beds are surely a dream with canopies of lace and muslin. These epitomes of Goan Portuguese luxury are given an individualistic twist by touches of Turkey due to the ownerÂ’s long previous residence there.

Day 3, NAGOA, NORTH GOA

Enjoy a guided morning tour of Panjim and the churches of Old Goa.

Panjim, the capital of Goa, is the smallest and most pleasant of state capitals. The old town has still preserved its Portuguese heritage remarkably well with overhanging balconies and red-tiled roofs, white-washed churches and numerous small cafes and bars.

In Old Goa, the churches of the St Cathedral, Basilica of Bom Jesus and the St Francis Church are the standing monuments to the legacy left behind by the Portuguese.

Day 4, ONWARDS FROM GOA

Your stay ends after breakfast.

You can continue your holiday by doin the Magnificent Hampi module in reverse. Alternatively, you can fly from Goa to your onward travel destination.
