There is plenty on offer for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts in the bio diverse, natural wonders that are the Western Ghats of Kerala. This safari takes you through the lowland forests at Thattekkad to the high altitude cloud forests of Munnar and the rain forests of Periyar. You round off your journey with a visit to Kerala's backwaters, an ornithologist's paradise.

This tour visits two outstanding sanctuaries of Bandhavgarh and Kanha in central India. Bandhavgarh is famous for its tigers but it also has a wide range of other game including nilgai (blue bull), jungle cats, wild boar and hyenas. Kanha also offers good chances of spotting the majestic Indian tiger. Other wildlife includes leopards, Indian bison, deer and blackbuck.

Sasangir sanctuary is home of the last remaining Asiatic lions. Apart from the lions the sanctuary is also inhabited by bears, hyenas, foxes and a number of species of deer and antelope and the occasional tribal villager. You also visit the magnificent Jain hilltop temples at Palitana. You have to climb up to the top of Shatrunjaya hill but the reward is a superb view and the extraordinary sight of the temples themselves.

About two hours drive from Ahmedabad is the Little Rann of Kutch, a vast expanse of hard, dry mud in the north of Gujarat. You stay in a rustic camp arranged like a traditional village. Here you can go on a jeep safari through the vast expanse of the Rann to track the shy Indian Wild Ass. You also see here a variety of migratory birds, including flamingo breeding colonies.

Guwahati is the gateway to Kaziranga National Park, the most famous attraction in Assam as it is home to the rare Great Indian One-Horned Rhinocerous. You won't find this rhino in many other places, so a visit to this park is something special. You can take jeep and elephant safaris into the park to spot the famous one-horned rhinos and a wide array of other animals, from wild buffaloes to delicate swamp deer and elusive tigers and a wide variety of birds.

Lying at the foothills of the Himalayas, Corbett is not only India's very first National Park, but also its most beautiful. The 520 sq kilometers area of the park encompasses hills, river valleys, thick forests and grasslands, making it home to a large array of wildlife. Corbett National Park is also covered under the Project Tiger, which is the largest wildlife conservation initiative ever undertaken.
